Selkie's Portrait, Resin and Foam Plaque, 2026

A man’s dream of having a loving wife and family is often portrayed as a sad love story to those who desire the selkie's hand. In the end, the selkie will always find her coat and one day return to the water she came from. However, when seen from the Selkie's perspective, the narrative shifts from love to a hostage situation. The Selkie's desires were denied, and ultimately, she made her escape to live the life she so desperately wanted. She is at her most beautiful, swimming freely in the water.

The Last Passenger, Wood Carving, 2026

'The Last Passenger' is a wood relief carving of a female passenger pigeon, a species of bird that was considered extinct from overhunting by the 1890's. This bird used to cover the skies, but now little is remembered of this creature. It served mankind well as a food source, but without responsible regulations, this bird dwindled to extinction. What would it be like to have within your grasp the last official bird of this species, especially if you knew this was the last Passenger that would ever go through death's door?

DAT Pod Installation

Diverging Artistic Technologies is an Imaginary Art Company that brings art to life using a mysterious compound known as Creafluid. This Immersive Art Installation was a part of the Fall 2024 BFA Exhibition held at The Blue Galleries at Boise State University.

2024 BFA Installation

What’s this?

Welcome to the future of creative advancement! We have used our imagination for centuries in making art but now Diverging Artistic Technologies wants to take your creativity to the next level!

Your imagination matters to us. Our team of researchers have discovered a way to extract the creative juices within your mind and into what we call Creafluid. This fluid materializes art into a living construct made from your imagination that flows into the D.A.T. Pod.

How is Creafluid made? Creafluid is made when substance [r43-7] is exposed to concentrated imaginative thoughts from observers. The result of this exposure makes r43-7 into a living building-material which takes the form of whatever creative thoughts had been absorbed.

Diverging Artistic Technologies have harnessed the power of Creafluid into a simple apparatus which transfers art into living creations. Like a 3d printer in some ways, the D.A.T. pod generates a controlled environment for Creafluid to take form. The future of art technology is thus born!” - CEO, Daetcha Owlbert Hoot

How do I use the D.A.T. Pod?

Your brain starts to emit creativity when you observe art. We need your imagination to generate Creafluid. Simply look at the bronze art piece in front of you and begin thinking creatively about the form. Your thoughts will transfer into the Creafluid which feeds the D.A.T. pod’s construction.

The more people who look at the art, the more Creafluid is made, the more D.A.T. Pod uses to materialize a living creation.

DISCLAIMER Diverging Artistic Technologies is not responsible for living art after constructs have materialized. WARNING: People may experience getting “Lost In The Art” when participating in Creafluid extraction. IT IS RECOMMENDED to begin a creative process after visiting a gallery with high levels of Creafluid exposure.

Primadonna, Bronze Statue, 2024

There is a beast with the head of a maiden and a winged body. Harpies were once symbols of divine justice, their beauty and swift flight once praised in writing but then their image became blurred with ferocious hunger and monstrous amalgamations of female devilry. This Harpy however remembers her charm. She is proud and boasts her breasts though covered by plumage. She does not have to align with the expectations of femininity or feel ashamed of her gender.

Self Sabotage: Hand Sculpted Resin Mask with Leather Work 2024

A critique on self harming practices through a painful art display. This work visualizes pain in a broken smile. Trauma rarely worked through yet the world holds victims accountable for their own misery.

Tree Of The Hill: Wood Relief Sculpture 2024

Created from visual inspirations of antique woodwork and the natural landscape of the Idaho, foothills, this work blends together the beauty of Chinese Landscapes with the rustic wood carpentry of the Northwest. Similar to the historical Chinese immigrants of the 1860's that were able to cultivate the desert mountain landscape of Idaho City, this wood carving pays respects to the forgotten territory called the Chinese Gardens, now known as the major roadway into Garden City, Boise, "Chinden Boulevard."

Responding to the City of Boise's Climate Action Curb It initiative, Reduce/Reuse, and located on Grove Street between 13th & 14th streets, this temporary, two-year public artwork is made of repurposed steel scraps and a touch of spray paint. (This Sculpture is for sale after July 2026.)
